The usual scene at my home lately involves me trying to wrangle my two-year-old while trying to sooth my seven month old, as you can imagine it looks like a train driving full speed off a cliff. Baby wearing has come in and saved the day! I use a carrier that is for outdoors and travel, which is too bulky and heavy for everyday use around the home. I discovered Happy Baby Wrap which is PERFECT for babies under 25 pounds!
At first I was a little weary of using a wrap because they intimidated me but Happy Baby Wrap is extremely user-friendly. Being a sucker for adorable and simple packaging, the first thing that popped out to me was the white box saying “HAPPY”. The instructions for the wrap are very easy to understand and come with a visual picture too. You can also find instructions on their website for different holds to help ease the process of tying the wrap and placing your little one safely inside.
When I first placed my little one in the wrap he was instantly happy. He loves to snuggle up to me and the skin to skin contact that we had while using the wrap was perfect. I also loved that he was so close to me that I was able to nurse him on demand while walking around the house. I was able to get more accomplished while still making sure that both of my children’s needs were met. I had both hands free which felt a little foreign to me at first but I quickly got used to it. My son even fell asleep and stayed asleep for longer stretches during the day by being worn in his Happy Baby Wrap.
I love the principles of Attachment Parenting and by using this wrap I was able to experience baby wearing in a whole new way. I wish that I would have found the Happy Baby Wrap when my son came home from the NICU it would have helped so much with establishing a good nursing relationship as well as kangaroo care.
