These days I’m lucky if I have any spare change lying around! I don’t mind since any I happen to have hiding in the bottom of my purse my kids happily grab up and deposit it into their piggy banks. My son has a cool money sorter that tell him the amount of change he has, as long as he doesn’t push through too many at a time. And my daughter has cute little Minnie Mouse ears although I’m thinking of getting her something bigger for her birthday. I figure depositing the money in their piggy banks will help them learn about the importance of saving money and the value of a dollar. When the piggy banks are full we either wrap the money in coin wrappers and take it to the bank or we go to our local supermarket and deposit into the Coinstar machine. The latter is much more preferable. My son loves taking his little baggy of change and pushing it all in the machine. Of course in his eyes the best part is the noise the money makes being sorted! We usually opt for an Amazon credit and I allow him to pick a few books online to be delivered. I think we both get excited waiting for the mailman to come! How do your kids save money?

Turn your Coins Into Tunes!
You probably already use Coinstar kiosks at your grocery store to cash in your leftover change, but now it’s gotten even more fun! Bring your coins to the Coinstar kiosk, select an iTunes eGift Card, pour that jar of coins in and get your eCertificate for an iTunes card. Yep, you heard me right, NO FEES on the transaction at all. You get an eCertificate for an iTunes eGift card right there on the spot. Not an iTunes fan? No worries, you can get great eGift cards from favorites like Nike, Gap, Toys “R” Us, Sears, Old Navy, Lowe’s and more! Pretty cool huh? Find a Coinstar Kiosk near you and drag that gallon of pennies down there right now. You’d be surprised how much they’re worth. Now just to get you in the mood we’re offering you a chance to win a $50 iTunes card! All you have to do is take a guess at the dollar value of the coins in this image. You’ll be entered to win one of 2 $50 iTunes cards. All winners who are within 10 cents of the real dollar value will be entered to win. (If there are multiple correct answers we will draw the winners at random). Don’t want to guess? That’s OK, you can still be entered to win a $25 iTunes Card to be drawn at random from all the entries!
It’s easy. What are you waiting for?
Two winners will be randomly chosen to win a $50 iTunes gift card each! Sponsored by Tatu Digital Media. Open to US residents only who are 18 or older. Begins 10/15/2013 at 12:01 am EST and ends 10/30/2013 at 11:59 pm EST.
