Depends on the mood of my taste buds. Seafood=fried shrimp, Mexican=a mixed plate and prime rib at the steak house. Or a bug fat juicy burger at the local burger place.
I base restaurants on salads. If you do not have a good salad I will not come back. Being a vegetarian that is about the only thing I can eat at most places. But I do like a good black bean burger.
My favorite food to eat when I go to a restaurant depends on what restaurant I am visiting, I like BBQ, buffet and all kinds of ethnic restaurants.

I like to try a local specialty when I go to a restaurant when we travel. Recently I enjoyed an Amish Wedding Meal with chicken and filling ( you may call it stuffing or dressing), mashed potatoes and gravy, pepper slow, yeast rolls and pepper slaw. It was a fabulous meal!
