I’m like every other mom in America. I can never seem to keep my carpets clean and I hate it. My current home has Berber carpets which are even worse. I would just as well replace the majority of the carpets in this house however I rent and I’m not paying that much out of pocket! When the chance to review Stanley Steamer was given to me I jumped at the chance!
Stanley Steemer was started more than 60 years ago in Columbus, Ohio and was run by only one man. They are now in 48 states with over 300 locations nationwide and boast 100% satisfaction at every job! Their water extraction process provides a deep-down clean, perfect for cleaning up after the holidays. Not just for carpet cleaning, Stanley Steemer’s expertise extends to hardwood, tile, air ducts, water damage restoration, and more!
I must admit the carpets in the house weren’t too terrible as I was told they’d been cleaned in July. However, I do not think all the rooms were done and unfortunately my landlord wouldn’t call someone back out. I chose to do our living room, master bedroom and basement since I felt those were in need of a good cleaning. When I called Stanley Steamer the person was very knowledgeable, answered all my questions, and told me what to do to get prepared for the visit.
Just my luck that morning the dog decided to eat a cap off of a Gogo Squeeze pouch and got sick all over the living room floor. Good thing the cleaners hadn’t come yet! Here’s a before picture (gross I know) and then an after picture. Stanley Steemer got rid of the stain and smell thankfully.
I also have pictures of a few stains in our bedroom. This is from the pictures I took of the house when I moved in. (I’m a landlord AND a tenant for work reasons so I recommend taking a lot of pictures!) As you can see the master bedroom was quite stained. After Stanley Steemer finished the room and we went in to inspect I was more convinced than ever that the room had not been cleaned prior to us moving in! Gross.
Overall our experience with Stanley Steemer was great. We had a mishap where they did not move our bed out but my husband explained it was furniture when they were not going to go back and move it. They apologized in the end and moved out the bed. As you can tell from the pictures our carpets are now very clean and I feel much better having the kids walk and play on them.
To help you see through the dirt that lurks in your home and really make it merry and bright, the experts in the field from Stanley Steemer offer these holiday tips for maintaining a cleaner, healthier home:
With the holidays come the house guests
Reduce the amount of dirt and mud that may get tracked into your home by using indoor and outdoor entrance mats.
Pickup in a flash
Why deny the inevitable? At some point this season you’ll deal with red wine, gravy, pine needles or candle wax drippings on the carpet. Remember to act quickly to clean up any spills or stains; consider keeping a professional spot remover handy at all time or use items commonly found around the home such as white vinegar and baking soda.
Dirt is the ultimate scrooge
Keep up with the high traffic areas in the home, especially during entertaining season, by vacuuming them two to three times a week and the rest of your carpets at least once a week.
