I breast fed my son until he was about seven months old. I remember because it was right after a triathlon I was participating in. (Only the swimming leg but it counts right??) Breastfeeding with my daughter was a completely different monster. She latched great but for medical reasons we went with formula after about three months. Don’t get me wrong, I loved breastfeeding, but I was also aware that there are many great formulas out there that would fill hungry tummys when I could not! Finding the right baby formula when you are bottle feeding is important to every mom and dad. There are so many to choose from so how do you pick? Below you’ll find information to help make your decision easier. There’s also a great sweepstakes so be sure to enter!
Many moms are not aware that they can save up to 50% on infant formula, by choosing a store brand over a national brand. In case you are not familiar with store brand infant formula, it is sold under individual retailer brands, such as Walmart’s Parent’s Choice and Target’s Up & Up. They are as nutritionally complete as the national brands, yet are typically half the price of the national brands, and can save you about $600 a year. Perrigo Nutritionals is the largest supplier of store brand infant formula and nutrition products in the world and one of only four companies recognized by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for meeting the strict FDA requirements for safety, nutrition, and quality for infant formula-manufacturing in the United States.
Armed with advice on what new parents can spend less on without compromising on quality is Sandra Gordon, one of the nation’s leading baby products experts. Sandra has just released a new book, Save a Bundle: 50+ Ways to Save Big on Baby Gear, where she shares her top money-saving tips for new parents, including her advice on safe products, like store brand infant formula, that parents can buy for their baby without compromising nutrition or spending a bundle.
You can also WIN the fabulous prize pack below! 18+ US Only. Ends 11/16.

Or just breastfeed. Better for mom, better for baby, and FREE.
I agree that breastfeeding is best for baby and mom, however some people are unable to breastfeed. From my personal experience it is not even close to free.
Amy-I was 110% planning to breastfeed and did EVERYTHING to make it happen. After a month doing everything that a lactation consultant told me to do and even after securing a prescription from Canada to increase supply I was only able to pump 3 oz. per day. Please stop judging people who cannot breastfeed. I spent a small fortune trying to make it happen and now will spend another small fortune buying formula. This has been a very difficult situation. Please don’t assume that you know what other people have been through. I agree that breastfeeding is best, but not everyone is able.
