One of the best gifts I’ve received for my birthday was a washer and dryer. Yes, this girl really does not mind appliances for gifts. That was for my 30th birthday and this previous year I got…nothing! For shame on my husband for forgetting, really he didn’t but I hope my 40th birthday he’ll give me a cruise or a trip to Australia or something! So you see my husband just happens to be my ‘Fairy Hobmother’.
As you probably know by the title I received a visit from the Fairy Hobmother and his overlords who sell appliances and other household items across the pond. He paid me a visit after I’d commented on another blog post but of course you knew that already! What is a Hobmother you ask? Frankly, I have no clue. And there’s that little squiggly red line underneath it when I type in Word so I’m going to assume it’s made up.
Ok, so I did a quick search of ‘Hobmother’ and up popped his Twitter account followed by several bloggers posts including ‘What is a Fairy Hobmother?”. But whenever I think of the Fairy Hobmother I tend to think of Hobbes which some of you may know is Calvin’s faithful stuffed tiger from the comic strip Calvin and Hobbes. But what some of you may not know is that it’s also my son, Calvin’s, faithful stuffed tiger too. He was named after the comic strip and there is never a dull day in our house!

Hobmother? Sounds like a wonderful secret friend that wants to bless you! It is so much fin to do things for others in secret and just sit back and watch them.
Then again.. you may not want to out your fairy hobmother… remember what happens when you stop believing in the tooth fairy or santa claus!!!!
