I have four nephews that love to receive money. What kid doesn’t? Ok what PERSON doesn’t? We don’t live close so we usually send out birthday and holiday cards with a gift card or a few dollars for them to spend however they choose. I found Foldin’ Money online and thought it was the perfect way to be inventive when we send money so the kids would at least have to ‘work’ for it. Is that too mean?
Foldin’ Money is an online company started by Sue Trapp as a way to find her voice again after having two strokes. The money-gami art, as her family calls it, was handed down from mother to daughter and through the years they gave the monetary value of the designs to friends and family. She is the artist and designs all of the kits herself and has even added decorations to give her designs more bling!
We received the red and yellow kit and have had a lot of fun folding our money-gami. It brought back memories of doing origami in math class although I don’t remember why we did it in math and not art class! We had a lot of fun trying to fold Christmas trees and I even have a jumpstart on Valentine’s Day since I folded a couple money hearts! You can use both US and Canadian currency when folding your designs. I’ve included a YouTube video so you can see how easy it is.
You can buy Foldin’ Money kits online in several different options including their Jackpot Collection which includes a design kit not sold separately! All kits include free shipping to US and Canada! They also have kits available for download for only $7.95. You can find Foldin’ Money on Facebook and Twitter and their kits are also available at several retailers including Ace Hardware and Taylor Gifts.
You can also enter to win your very own Red collection Foldin’ Money Kit! Valid to those ages 18+ who are residents of the US and Canada! Sweepstakes end 12/15 at 11:59 PM EST.
