Before I had my first child, I had great big plans. I knew I was going to remember every moment. I knew that I would photograph each memory. I knew that her beautiful baby book would be completely filled out for our family to look back on fondly. Then she came along. Everything I thought I knew went out the window and we were lucky to get by day by day! Don’t get me wrong, there were plenty of pictures and memories, I just hadn’t written them all in perfectly like I had planned for. Lucky for me, with baby number three, I found Your Life in Letters; a beautiful and simple way to remember each year of a child’s life.
Your Life in Letters was created by an (Ohio!!) mom who became overwhelmed with keeping up with a baby book and found writing a once a year letter to her children easier. She then created a beautifully designed book to easily capture and save these letters. The book spans from birth until age 18. Each page is colorful and is designed like a scrapbook, but the best part is that the page is done; all it needs is your memories! We received the “boy” version of the book, however it is neutral enough and will still be perfect for little miss.
Luckily, I had done something pretty similar for my first two children. The day or night I had them; I sat in the hospital and wrote a letter. I included my flood of emotions, my fears and my love. Throughout the years, I have gotten out pen and paper and written them letters at poignant times; birthdays, New Year, etc. I have the letters in folders in the kids’ memory boxes. But now, with Your Life in Letters, I will have a beautiful display book and included cards to add my thoughts (and a few tears) to look back on. This book is a great gift for baby showers, for the holidays or a gift for you!

Wishing I had done something like this for my children. I too remember thinking about all the memories I was going to create and capture but as time moved on it wasnt as easy to do. I forgot or missed the chance to take a photo or remember a milestone. My daughter is expecting and she is determined to not make the mistake of not capturing the special moments. With my help hopefully we can get a few. The Your Life in Letters sounds like the perfect way to make sure that if we dont get the picture or right down the milestone it can be captured in a letter.
