Umi Shoes Spring Collection Review {#FashionistaEvents}

My daughter loves shoes. She is always wearing a pair of shoes even when she’s in her pajamas. It’s funny but at the same time I see huge dollar signs in my future. A sure way to make sure I don’t break the bank is to buy good quality shoes for my children that won’t fall apart after normal wear and tear. Umi hand crafts children’s shoes to ensure they fit on little feet with room to grow. And they also use high quality leathers and materials to ensure their shoes are a cut above the rest.
We received two pairs of Umi shoes, one for my son and one for my daughter. I chose Trieste in a pink/white combo for her and I must admit I was a little leery only because I do not like fisherman style shoes on boys and so I assumed I wouldn’t like these as much either however I was wrong. (You will not see me admit that much!) I enjoy how this style can easily be made dressy by matching them with a dress or toned down by wearing them with jeans. These shoes are cute. And she instantly pulled them out of the box and put them on so I think Umi is doing something right in the style department!

For my son I chose Laren in the color Steel and was once again a little leery since I’m not big on open toes shoes for boys. Yes. I am weird! You’re probably asking yourself what my kids wear! Rest assured I do find styles that I like. I DID however choose them because they are water friendly which is a big, big must for my son. As I’ve mentioned before in our review of the Hayman style, my son is a puddle jumper and anything that looks like water he is drawn too. (And the Hayman are awesome by the way) I again chose size 29 which is an 11.5 toddler and he will definitely have room to grow over the summer. (Although in the picture he’s pushing against the heel, there’s not that much room when he walks.) He has gotten a chance to wear them twice so far since we live in Northern Indiana and it’s been snowing. I am happy to report that he went straight for a puddle and the shoes survived! Although my poor son was not too happy with having freezing cold toes since it was melted snow!

    I am not a fan of open toes for boys either, my 4 little rough guys would tear their feet up in them. But I found several other CLOSED toe pairs that are adorable and fashionable
