Shoes are one of the items I wish I never had to buy. OR if I could buy just ONE pair that I know my kids liked in the same style and color over and over again I would. But then I’d have to put my kids in the same outfits over and over again and then life would be a pretty colorless palette! And since my kids would not enjoy the monotony I suppose I wouldn’t either! I was a very happy mom when I received our Umi shoes for both the kids.
I usually buy the kids things they need or will need for the coming year for Christmas. Honestly, I’m not sure how much longer I’ll be able to get away with it. My son gets excited to open any box for him or his sister and he expresses so much appreciation. I really hope it lasts well into his teen years! Shoes are top on my list despite my reluctance and we picked out a pair of Hayman boots for my son for winter and slip on Flora for my daughter since she really doesn’t have any dressy shoes. I find it funny that I am referring to pretty colors and I chose brown for both the kids’ shoes. However, the reason why I chose brown was to go with all of the kids’ outfits. Brown goes with anything in my opinion and they did not have any brown shoes.
I admit I was a bit nervous ordering shoes online since I didn’t want to be the one to error and order the wrong size. Cal is typically a wide and has hobbit feet as I call them but Caet has about average feet for her age so I really don’t have to worry about her shoes. Not to fear both pair fit and the kids loved their new shoes.
The Hayman shoes for big boys could not have come at a better time. Despite not having any snow yet we have had our share of rainy days and I have a self proclaimed puddle jumper on my hands. These boots are water resistant which is one of the reasons I chose them. Cal has jumped in a few puddles recently while wearing the boots and I was very impressed that his socks weren’t soaked. He looked at me with a little confusion as if to say ‘uh, I’m not wet, this is why I jump’. Maybe I’ve stopped him unintentionally for the moment. I chose a size 29 (11.5 Toddler) and as you can tell from the photo they fit great. He could wear a pair of thick heavy socks and he would still have some room.
I got my daughter’s shoes in a size 22 (6.5 Toddler) and they fit comfortably. They are not too snug and have plenty of room for her to grow. These shoes go with all outfits and she loves looking at the little flower decals on the shoes. Even better she can put these shoes on all by herself; even if most of the time they are on the wrong feet! She’s never come to me and asked to take them off out of discomfort.
