Swaddling a baby is one of the most common ways to calm, de-stress and help sleep. With my first child, she absolutely refused to keep her hands in and would fight being wrapped up from day one. With my second, he was the epitome of a baby burrito and loved the tightness and security being swaddled afforded. Now with baby number three due in 8 weeks, I know I will be swaddling once again, but was worried because I had two summer babies before and any lightweight swaddle worked. I want to make sure little lady also stays warm while being all cozied up. Swaddle Designs came to my rescue and makes cotton flannel swaddle blankets that are perfect for winter and year round.
When I was offered an opportunity to try out the Swaddle Designs Ultimate Swaddle, I jumped at the chance! I picked the Lolli Fleur design, since we know we are expecting a girl. (With my first daughter, I didn’t know, so I went neutral on everything.) It’s fun to pick pink ahead of time! The first thing I noticed was just how soft the fabric really is. Without baby here to swaddle, I cozied up in the blanket myself. It’s the perfect weight for all seasons, just heavy enough to keep baby warm, but light enough and breathable for the warmer months.
I love the fact that Swaddle Designs is the only company that has the instructions on how to properly swaddle sewn into the tag. It’s perfect for first timers, caregivers who may not do it every day, or an overly tired parent who just needs a reminder! They also have a tag with a QR code in the blanket that will pull up tips and tricks to help baby sleep, etc.

As crazy as this sounds, my daughter would love the book Airlines. She has a crazy obsession with planes and always waves to them when they go by in the sky. Cutest.

I wish I had known about swaddling when my kids were babies. It really seems to calm them.

I really like swaddle blankets. Very useful.
The Smithsonian books my grandkids like are the animal hero ones. They like true stories about animals.

That is so thoughtful to have a tag with swaddling instructions on the item itself.
