The Hunger Games series has been one of my favorite Dystopian novels. I recommended it to my husband and I remember driving back and forth from Ohio to Indiana and vice versa listening to the book on CD in the car. He loved the writing style of Suzanne Collins and was surprised how much he liked the Dystopian genre. We’ve seen all of the Hunger Games films and are excited for the Mockingjay Part 1 film to premier Friday. We have some friends who have already ordered their tickets!
In honor of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 movie coming out November 21st we had a party to discuss the book with some friends and family. Everyone had either read or heard about the third book and were excited to be able to share their thoughts and opinions during the party.
*Spoilers* Mockingjay was a great book but I remember expecting there to be more games or something similar to the first two. Just because I thought there had to be a twist and couldn’t be over. But what do I know? Katniss does a great job standing for her convictions and not letting others interfere with her beliefs.
After the Hunger Games have been destroyed we glimpse District 13 and what has become of the world since President Coin has come into power. Saving Peeta is Katniss’ ultimate goal and learning how to become the Mockingjay for the rebellion has her making hard choices. What do you think of the trailer? Are you excited to watch the movie?
