The Cat In The Hat: Safari, So Good {Review & Giveaway}

March 2nd is Dr. Seuss’s birthday and what better way to celebrate than with Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That! We had the opportunity to review the book and DVD Safari, So Good! which is a wonderful edition to the Dr. Seuss collection.

My son loved the book which takes you, Sally and Nick to Africa where you learn what animal loves to play with animal dung! I was actually surprised by this tidbit of information and I’d never have thought animals do that! My son is a reader and this book as made it into our bedtime routine almost every time I tell him to pick his books. I think he’s anxious for the zoo to open and the book has a lot of animals that are on exhibit at our local zoo. It’s all about African wildlife where you will read about elephants, giraffes, hippos, and six kinds of antelope. This book is a definite must have for any child’s collection!

We recently went out of town and it was great to have a new DVD for my son to watch. It’s also fun to hear his giggles in the backseat. He loved the Christmas Cat in the Hat movie and I was sure this one would be a hit. Nick, Sally, and the Cat in the Hat go on an African safari adventure looking for the Cat’s missing stripes for his hat. Not only do you discover how footprints are made (which my son found really interesting) but you get to swing with silly monkeys too!

The book is available for $12.99 at seussville.com and Barnes and Nobles. (I also just saw it at Meijer for half off this week!)

The DVD is available for $10.99 at NCircleEntertainment or a retailer near you. Enter to win the Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That!: Safari, So Good! DVD. Valid US only 18+. Ends 03/05
