I have been extremely blessed through my pregnancies and with my children. I had the proper care; the babies always had a safe place to sleep and never had to want for something when it came to the kids. I know many mothers out there have to worry about these things on a daily basis, in our country, and in others. I want to introduce you to a company that is carrying on a tradition that was started years ago in Finland and is still happening today!
In the early nineteen hundreds, Finland was a poorer country, with a high infant mortality rate. Then the country stepped up and offered every (you read that properly, EVERY) expectant mother a box, filled with items needed to care for a newborn. The box itself was even used, as it was sturdy cardboard and came with a mattress, thus solving a safe place to put a baby to sleep. For over 75 years, this tradition has helped Finland achieve one of the world’s lowest infant mortality rates. The Baby Box Company was born when two friends admired the tradition and thought how great (and easy) it would be to gift or purchase an all-inclusive box for new moms. As a first-time new mom, I knew receiving a Baby Box would have relieved a lot of stress. Heck, even as a mom for the third time, as I went through my box I was thrilled to have the items to start with again. When our newest arrives, I cannot wait to share pictures of her in the box!
We received The Nature Box to review. Even though I had looked through the items on the site, I was floored by how much really comes included in each box. In ours, we received three swaddle blankets, two onesies, a healthcare kit, pair of socks, wash cloths, bibs, burp cloths, wipes, mittens, a hat, shampoo & body wash, a lovey and the box, with mattress and cover. Plus, a host of extra coupons!
The Baby Box Co. has different boxes you can purchase for yourself or a loved one. They come with varying degrees of baby necessities, all of the great quality and popular brand names. (Think Aden & Anais, Gerber, Earth Mama Angel Baby and Safety 1st.) You can even purchase the bed box on its own. After using it for a baby if needed, it is extremely sturdy and can be used for many other things! Another amazing thing I found out, was that for every Baby Box that is purchased, a portion of the proceeds goes to help a mother in need. What are your thoughts on the box? The squeezable snacks freak me out a bit. I saw a blog once where they opened up one of the packs and there was mold in it. Since they are eaten directly from the container, if it was molding it would not be noticed. So it scares me. I would leave that out of the box, or perhaps I need to read more to find out if it was just a fluke.
I love the swaddle blankets, while every baby household has so many of them it is a great thing to have more of. I love this box, it has so many essentials.
I think that the mattress and cover is the best thing about this, and everything else is perfect for a new mom. I love this idea so much, I wish someone would have given me one of these with my first!

I always played lullabies for my babies.
My babies listen to all types of music. Lullabies, classical, children’s artists, country… As long as the lyrics are appropriate we listen to all types of music.
We generally listen to classical, lullabies, and learning songs.
Around here we like variety so everything from Classical to more top hits.
