I remember taking swim lessons back when I was a tot. Even in the 80’s my mother was concerned about water safety and wanted to make sure I knew how to swim since we had a creek behind our house and the neighborhood kids could often be found fishing for crawdads. Fortunately I took to the water like a fish and was always on a swim team throughout my childhood. Those were some of the best times I had as a kid. The 5th annual National Learn to Swim Day on May 21, 2016 is dedicated to teaching parents about water safety and the importance and benefits of learning to swim.

During the month of June my  two older kids will be continuing their third year of swim lessons and Little C will be going to his first. I’m really not nervous as much as I was with Big C since he seems to be a natural in the water. The SwimWays Baby Spring Float is the single best float on the market today; it’s the perfect product to introduce baby to the water for the first time.

While it’s been pretty cold in Ohio for May we’re anxious to get started next month learning to swim with Little C. His laughter is contagious and I want to hear it all the time, and that’s why I feel it’s important for my children to swim at a young age. Visit the Teach Me to Swim website for expert swim training advice, water safety tips, a National Learn to Swim Day event toolkit with rewards and activities, and resources for parents and caregivers.

What a great toy! I like how it allows babies to safely enjoy the water. 🙂
