One afternoon, while visiting my mom and her friend, I was talking about how much I enjoy Tastefully Simple’s Beer Bread but that I hate to spend the money! My mom’s friend told me I would never have to buy that pre-package mix again, that she had a super simple recipe that she can make whenever she wanted! I was thinking, “Yeah, right, those copycat recipes are never that good!” But I jotted down what she told me and when I made it for the first time I was surprisingly pleased! I truly can’t tell the difference! (I’m not sure where she got the recipe)
- 3 cups self-rising flour
- ¼ cup sugar
- 12 oz beer
- ½ stick of butter
- Preheat oven to 350.
- Grease or spray a loaf pan.
- Mix flour, sugar and beer together. Mix just until blended.
- Pour into loaf pan.
- Bake for 50 minutes.
- Take out of oven and pour butter over the top of bread.
- Bake 10 more minutes.
- Remove from oven and cool on cooling rack.
- Once cool, slice and serve.

Hi Megan,
I love the beer bread too. I plan to try your recipe. I’m quite curious. You can get the TS beer bread which has fewer cooking steps at a discount by becoming a consultant (30% off) or get it for free with host rewards by hosting a party. This includes online catalog parties (completely online). A great low maintenance fundraiser as well as an opportunity for free products.
Best wishes,
