Technology is here to stay my friends. Do you even remember how we got by without a cell phone? I mindlessly grab mine on the way out the door, without thinking twice about I would do without. For our children, it has been around every single day of their lives. There have been many amazing advances when it comes to children’s educational products, safety, and toys. Now if only we could mix a bit of technology with a bit of nostalgia. I am happy to introduce you to Painting Lulu, who takes the fun of a coloring book and kicks it up a notch.

Painting Lulu adds the magic of an app to the classic coloring book. Each coloring set contains a coloring book, crayons, a stylus crayon and free access to the app. This is the only coloring set I’ve seen that combines the joy of coloring, both hands on and digitally. Painting Lulu appeals to many ages with familiar characters such as DC Super Friends, Batman, Barbie and the new installment with My Little Pony. At only $7.99 a set and availability at Toys R Us and online, these make the perfect gift anytime!

My older children both fell in love with the Painting Lulu sets. Not only did they have fun creatively coloring their favorite pictures, but it was all the additional fun that got them hooked. After we downloaded the app, we could scan the finished picture and the screen would show “magic” hidden images. Also, with the crayon stylus, you can color many pictures in the app. My favorite feature has to be the create your own coloring page in the app. Snap a quick pic of whatever you’d like, and color it in!

Painting Lulu has updated all of its packagings and is now available in Toys R Us. Catch up with them on Facebook!
