Winter is not only always so harsh because of the bitter cold, but also because of the dry air. This winter especially it seemed like all four of us were having dry air conditions. My hands became chapped so easy and no amount of hand crème could prevent it. Hubby has seasonal allergies and with all the dust particles in the air must have been worse than in previous years. My little girl has such fine, flyaway hair and she could barely keep her hair down, it was always standing on end. My little guy seems to be affected the worst with really dry skin. He got to a point where is pants would lay on his hips and back would become sore and red. I slathered him in lotions twice a day to try to help.
We’ve gone through multiple humidifiers in our household for these and other various reasons. Some have worked, others are cute but can’t make it through a night and yet we’ve kept looking. We received a Luma Comfort HC12B for review and when I first read about it, with detachable parts, a remote and a 45 hour water tank, I was pretty skeptical. Do you really need all of those features in a machine that puts moisture in the air?
Let me be the first to tell you, YES! We all know how humidifiers work and what they help with. Now, let me tell you how Luma goes above and beyond. The detachable pieces. You can set this model on a floor, table or anywhere with a flat surface. It’s nice to be able to change the top nozzles depending on how you have it located. When we used it in our living room, I used the tallest nozzle so the moisture was released above furniture. When it was on my daughter’s desk, it was nice to use the smallest.
The remote was a great addition. It can work from a range up to 65 feet, so I could turn it on in my son’s room if I had forgotten, you can also control the moisture output setting from the water drop shaped remote. I loved that I could have more moisture if I wanted. The added bonus with the remote was that it came with a battery already! So many things these days don’t and it sure is frustrating when you just want to open and start using the product.

I love that the tank can go up to 45 hours without being refilled. We have had many units where we were filling each evening, and that was only for overnight use. I’ve also appreciated just how quiet this machine is. You don’t hear the gurgles like you may in others and the cool air mist is almost sound free, in my opinion. The other great thing about the Luma Comfort HC12B is that it works well in rooms up to 650 feet. That is a pretty great area. I think it works in our living room and dining room area and the small hallway that connects the kid’s rooms comfortably.
And I haven’t even mentioned how sleek the unit looks. I think it fits in with any décor, or is inconspicuous enough if you want it to blend in. I’ve really enjoyed our Luma Comfort humidifier and I think we’ve finally found “the one”.

This looks like it would be good for those with lung issues and for those who get chest colds in the winter. It looks very modern.

Sounds like a winner. Also not as stark looking as most.

Its nice to know that it has a fairly large range and can go for awhile without having to refill it. I hate refilling humidifiers!

Wow! What a beautiful humidifier! I can’t believe how attractive it is! I would love to have one in my home. It’s like a decoration and nobody would even know it was a humidifier!

What features and design! I didn’t even realize this was a humidifier at first. I think it’s great that its quiet. We use one in the living room and don’t want to hear it.
