When you have three young kids it’s tough getting out of the house to go on a date night. Grandparents are wonderful but can’t watch the kids every Friday! It would be so nice to get out by ourselves once a week. We’ve come to learn that a date night doesn’t have to be out of the house. As soon as the kiddos go to bed we’ll enjoy our own meal, watch a movie and have a cuddle on the couch. Simple.
The year marks our thirteenth wedding anniversary and we know our definition of romance may not be what others envision. We’re okay with that! Notice that bottle of wine with my pizza? That was a good bottle of wine! No heavy cleanup after I loaded the dishes so we could enjoy the movie and have a nice conversation. Putting effort into spending time with my guy was effortless and very enjoyable.
My husband and I don’t watch many romantic movies as we prefer comedies or action but he won’t say ‘no’ if I ask to watch something specific. He’s really great about listening to what I want to do and that quality I wouldn’t trade. He’s happy just sitting on the couch with me beside him watching infomercials if it means I’m off the computer and he’s off the telephone! Watching The Best of Me with its second chances and drama was a great ending to a romantic evening with my #1 guy!
Based on the #1 New York Times Best Seller from celebrated author Nicholas Sparks comes this tender, romantic drama about the timeless power of love. When former high school sweethearts Dawson and Amanda (James Marsden and Michelle Monaghan) meet at a loved one’s funeral 20 years after tragedy separated them, their love is reignited. As they recall and relive the past, they come to a deeper understanding about the choices they’ve made. Also starring Luke Bracey and Liana Liberato, and featuring beautiful scenery along with music by Lady Antebellum, The Best of Me is a powerfully romantic story of love, hope and second chances.
