Can you believe it’s fall? I think I’ve been waiting all year to say ‘It’s Fall Ya’ll’. Although the weather this week is suggesting summer, Halloween will be here before we know it and the kids love to go out on Beggar’s Night! We’ve finally narrowed down costumes and the kids want to bring in a special treat since Halloween falls on a Monday. What’s easier than making a spooky version of Chex Mix? My son and I got to spend a little one on one time while daddy took the other two kids to drop off some fall mums and pick up dinner. It’s always nice to get that little extra time with them and they each love the individual attention. Look at that handsome devil! I’m pretty biased.
We started with some fresh popped popcorn – stovetop (it’s seriously so good) but you can use the microwave, then added some pretzels (any type will do but the windows let the chocolate balls have a place to sit) and some apple dehydrated apple crisps (again so good). Let the popcorn cool before you add the candy.
The sneaky kid is trying to get the goods before we’re finished doing the photo shoot! We then mixed in an assortment of Celebration by Frey™ and Sixlets® candy. You can’t have a trail mix without chocolate! The eyes are bubblegum but it makes the fun treat spooky! I like the fact that these snacks are healthy, without having to compromise on the taste! Pop corns and dehydrated apple satiate kids and they’re yummy, but with little sugar and salt.
Love it, we’ll be making this with the kids next weekend and enjoy while we carve pumpkins.
I like Foiled Solid Milk Pastel Blue Hearts the most of all of the Frey’s Celebration collection of fine candies because they are so delicious.
