There are so many subscription boxes and services out there these days. Some are absolutely amazing and some you try once and don’t continue. There are boxes monthly, quarterly, as needed and any combination you can imagine. After trying and reviewing many I have found myself very vocal about them all, the good and the low points. However, I was introduced to one company and was completely blown away (in a good way)!
Cooper & Kid is a subscription box service that caters to children 5-9 AND DADS! There are many boxes out there for kids, and male centered boxes have started to become more popular, but this one… this one is so much more. When you sign up for their subscription service, you’ll get a box every three months for $65 and shipping. Don’t worry about the cost, Cooper & Kid is beyond worth it.
We received the Magic themed box and as we opened it, both my kids and hubby’s eyes lit up. The box, which is decorated in theme and can be played with as well, was stuffed to the gills. It could have been overwhelming, but the kit had scrolls and instructions at the top on where and how to start.
I would highly suggest to the kids and big kid to take their time with the kit since the next one won’t come for another three months. Now, even as I suggest that, the box at our house was completely emptied and all contents studied on what was to be done first. Hubby was drawn to levitation and the kids were quick to watch and want to try. Some patience is needed with some of the activities, but each one is fun and educational too!
Another reason I love the company is they also send you their e-zine. It’s tailored to the boxes you receive and adds complementary activities to the items you already have. Hubby really enjoyed this added bonus because he looked like the hero when he came up with something new. Although I participated in some of the magic, dad was definitely the star. He levitated items, built a cool owl, created potions and helped our little wizards create magic.

I dont’ think I do anything different with the kids than any other mother does. They do love to bake! Oh yes, so we do bake together. They like art and crafts. So we have a huge cabinet of art and craft supplies. The girls are learning to sew, knit, etc.

My children are grown and I am now a grandmother. My oldest son has a brand new daughter and a 4 year old step son. He is very involved with his step sons activities. I am always on the lookout for crafts and activities for them to do together. And like you have found myself weighing the pros and cons of different companies. This one I have not heard of and am anxious to do research on them. Thanks for sharing a great blog post along with wonderful pictures, and of course for hosting such a wonderful giveaway!
