Let Sweetworks Candy Help With Your Fall Baking And Decorating!

By: Tiffany S.148 Comments

*This is a Fashionista Event and a promotional item was provided to me by Sweetworks. Hosts for this event are Still Blonde after all these Years and ModlyChic.*

The best part about having children is seeing their creativity on a daily basis. My kids challenge me to try new things, get crafty and just enjoy life. I have always been the worrier, the one who wants things to look Martha Stewart perfect. I get in my own head, then either seem to sabotage myself or give up. But with kids, that’s not an option. Going on to plan b or c or improvising is the name of the game. The kids wanted to create candy cookies and I knew this would be a perfect time to try out our new goodies. Sweetworks has some amazing holiday themed candies, so we wanted to create something fall!

Sweetworks candies

In hindsight, I should have just went out and purchased a leaf cookie cutter. My daughter had such a fun idea that we could create leaves and top them with the ever so popular Sixlet candies in fall hues. We were all really excited, so I decided to go for it. Hand created leaf shapes. The fall themed Sixlets and candies were so fun, and glistened in my sons hands!

Hand madeSixlets

Depending on how creative you are, or have a leaf cookie cutter lying around, this project could be very easy. Make up your favorite sugar cookie recipe, cut into shape of choice, bake, and then ice and decorate until your or your kid’s hearts are content. Our thinner leaves turned into corn on the cob. (Thank goodness we had fruit by the foot lying around!) And you know what? We’re all happy with them. I had an amazing afternoon creating with both of my kiddos and enjoying some yummy candy in the process.

Sweetworks Cookies

While the cookies were baking, my son decided he wanted to learn and create with candy as well. I let him go and we had ourselves another great activity that was food based but not just for eating! He created trees out of swizzle sticks and added Fruit Loops for apples and/or leaves.

Sweetworks Crafting

Check out all the amazing candies that Sweetworks has to offer. Let me know which candy or multiple candies you would use in your fall festivities, whether it’s baking, crafting or decorating!
One of you have the chance to win a Sweetworks prize package of your own, that’s $50 worth of delicious candy! If you’re a blogger don’t forget to sign up for our Super Stocking Stuffer Giveaway Hop, This or That Hop, And Jeepers! It’s January Hop!

I would like to use the Halloween Mix Sixlets Bag for the Halloween cake I’ll be making this year because the colors of the Sixlets match the exact colors of the cake! It would make the cake look even better and more “spooky” with these Sixlets on top!
