K’Nex Tinkertoys Review & Sweepstakes {Holiday Gift Guide}

By: Amanda50 Comments

tinkertoy

K’Nex toys have been around forever! These toys are a brand every parent knows and loves and my husband and I are no different. We had K’Nex on our list to get our son for Christmas but I didn’t realize they had so many amazing products to choose from. I guess I was out of the loop! I thought Tinkertoys would be right up his alley and I think this is probably one of the best toy decisions I’ve made.

We received a set of Tinkertoys Building Vehicles set by Playskool for our son or I should say I received a box of tinkertoys for my husband who let’s my son play with them! I’m not sure who was more excited to open the box. My son immediately wanted to build the car that is in the directions so he and the hubs went to work. Fifteen minutes and a lot of patience later the best Tinker car rolled by me as I was making dinner. That toy had to be put away at night so his sister wouldn’t destroy it when he went to school in the morning. A few days later (yes a few days) he finally took it a part and built his scooter on his own from the picture on the back. I was very impressed and the look of pride on my three year olds’ face will forever be in my memories.

Not only does my son play with them but my daughter does as well. In fact, she’s the one who cleans up the mess and if she finds a stray on the floor, will go put it in the box. She tries to build something and at 20 months has accomplished putting a few together which of course makes her so proud. I’m not sure a day has gone by since we’ve received these that either of the kids has not played with them. Including the big kid! I honestly feel that Tinkertoys are a great way to spark imagination in kids. It’s so refreshing to have them working together, even if it only lasts five minutes!

Order K’Nex in a variety of retail locations or find them directly from Amazon or Knex.com. We’re even giving away a box of Tinkertoy Vehicles Building set for one TKDI reader! Valid to those who are 18 and older living in the US. Sweepstakes ends 12/19. Look at our holiday gift guide for our reviews and enter our current sweepstakes!
