I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Cascade. I received a product sample to facilitate my review and a promotional item as a thank you for participating.

It’s my third week using Cascade Platinum and I couldn’t be happier. Honestly, these little pacs have really come through to clean my dishes. I’m not one to prewash the dishes and I honestly have a love hate relationship with my dishes. I love when they are clean and in the cabinets and hate when they are clean and I’m the only one that puts them away! 😀
Even as a blogger I do not take many pictures of my meals because of my camera, or lack thereof! This year for our holiday present we’re getting a new camera which was decided last year! However, I have a pot that would like it’s story told and what better way than a nice photo shoot? Below you’ll find a grimy pot that was left out overnight with dried on mashed potatoes. For the purpose of this story we’ll say this was intentional!

This pot is now going into the dishwasher with the other dirty dishes. I really wanted to see how well these pacs did. (No, I did NOT put any water in the pot to presoak!)

The lovely model hand displaying the Cascade Platinum Pac going into the dishwasher. Think I can make it as a hand model??

After about and hour and a half, viola, we have clean dishes. Just from comparing before pics I can already tell a difference. Did the inside of the pot get clean?

Woot, it did! Pretty good right? And there you have it. A pot’s journey through the dishwasher with Cascade.

So that was dinner but what about dessert? Well we almost always have ice cream and occasionally a sundae. Our favorite is DQ but we’re always up to trying new creations! Gail Simmons created a Bumbleberry Pie Sundae (Mixed Berry) for a simple and easy summer dessert. The recipe is below.
Bumbleberry Pie Sundae (Serves 6)
3 cups plus 3/4 cup mixed berries, well washed and divided (any combination of strawberries hulled and quartered, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries halved)
4 tablespoons granulated sugar, divided
2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
1 pinch coarse salt
1 cup heavy cream
1 pint vanilla ice cream
1 pint raspberry sorbet
6 graham crackers, crushed
2 tablespoons fresh lemon zest
In a medium saucepan heat one cup of mixed berries, 2 tablespoons sugar and lemon juice over medium heat, until the blueberries begin to burst and the other berries break down, about 10 minutes. Remove from off heat and stir in the pinch of salt.
Place half the berry mixture in a blender and puree until smooth. Return the sauce to the saucepan and stir well to combine with remaining fruit. Allow to cool slightly.
Meanwhile, in a medium bowl crush 3/4 cup of mixed berries with remaining 2 tablespoons sugar using a fork, until slightly chunky and loose. In a large bowl or stand mixer, using a balloon whisk or hand-held mixer, beat the cream at medium speed until soft peaks form. Gently fold the crushed berries into the whipped cream. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
To serve: spoon 2 tablespoons of the sauce into each of 6 parfait or rocks glasses. Top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, a sprinkling of crushed graham crackers, and a pinch of lemon zest. Then add a scoop of the raspberry sorbet and another 2 tablespoons of the sauce. Top with a dollop of whipped cream and finish with a sprinkling of the graham crackers and another pinch of zest. Serve immediately.
