As you know by now, I had my third child in June and things around our house have been easy and hectic all at the same time. Easy because I’ve been extremely lucky in the sibling jealousy department. Little C instantly fit right in and the older two pretty much accepted him with no issues. Hectic because now I have three wonderful children who need all of my attention. Any accessories or equipment that I can add to my arsenal to make my life easier is a must in my book so I was excited to review the Joovy Caboose Stand-On Tandem double stroller.
My kids have a lot of endurance mostly from being at the local zoo and park nearly every nice day when we lived in South Bend. Adding a little one into the mix who needs a stroller now is tricky. Miss C feels she has to ride to keep Little C comfy. What to do? What to do? Buy a tandem! I honestly thought these strollers were so silly but remember the old saying ‘Don’t knock it until you try it’? Well I must eat my words.
The Joovy Caboose Stand-On Tandem double stroller made an appearance on our first extended family trip to Young’s Dairy. We had a total of five kids with us ages newborn to 11 and each one was in the stroller at one point during the day. Upon arriving we went to see the cows and you can see in the picture above you have to use the ramp to get into the barn. I was a little worried about the stroller being heavy to go up and down the incline but it was very easy to maneuver. I’m very short and sometimes have difficulties pushing strollers or carts. I can hardly see over the buggy at the grocery store!
There are bars on the side of the stroller for a child to securely hold on to. Miss C really enjoyed sitting since she didn’t take a nap.
The Caboose let the kids sit on the seat or stand. Either way the footrest gets dirty (especially at a farm) but it cleans with a wipe easily.
Big C demonstrating the ease of buckling himself into the stroller. He’s five and almost 50 pounds but was very easy to push around.
‘Ta-dah’! I do like the belt feature for the tandem seat. Sometimes the older kids will push Little C and it’s nice to know that if they jolt the stroller won’t be jostled around.
Little C saying the Joovy Caboose is A-Okay! He’s in a Graco carseat that fits onto the Joovy stroller. I would like to see the front tray swing open for a child to easily get in and out. You have to push both sides of the tray in and it comes completely off. The other feature that would be great is to let the front seat recline to a laying position. This would be helpful to moms whose kids still take naps or to change a diaper.
