National Reading Day is an annual event which celebrates and encourages reading by younger children. My kids love to read. I don’t have to push them and it’s a daily occurance in our house. We frequent the library often and there’s always books on hold to be borrowed by someone in our family. We are very lucky and have two great library networks in our area. It also helps when grandma is a retired reference librarian so it’s in their blood!

I’ve got several books that I would love to read this year including Gone Girl which everyone says is fabulous. If you ask my son he would say ‘books I can read’ which mean the first reader books. My daughter is excited for Aqualicious by Victoria Khan who also wrote Pinkalicious and my husband is most excited to get his hands on the new Game of Thrones title.

Never too early to start reading! Big sister reading a book to Little C like her teacher does when they have story time.

National Reading Day is 01/23/15 & The Book of Life comes to Blu-ray/DVD 01/27/15! What books do you have on your reading list this year?
