This recipe for italian beef crock pot sandwiches is a favorite that I got from my bestie in Indiana. I believe she got it from a friend out there, who got it from who knows where. Needless to say, I’m not sure of its original source, but it’s too good not to share!
Italian Crock Pot Sandwiches
Author:
Ingredients
- 2-3lbs beef chuck pot roast
- 3 cups water
- 1 envelope dry Italian dressing mix
- 1 tsp each: salt, pepper, oregano, basil, parsley, garlic powder and onion powder
- 1 loaf French bread, sliced thinly
- 6+ slices of mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Put a crock pot liner in your crock pot if you like (these have become one of my favorite kitchen “tools”).
- Place roast in crock pot.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the water and the dry ingredients.
- Pour over roast and cook for 6-8 hours on low.
- When done, remove beef and shred.
- Place beef on bread and top with cheese.
- Place under broiler for approx 2 minutes to melt cheese.
- Top with another slice of bread.
Notes
At my house this gets eaten up pretty quick! When we run out of the French bread we’ve been known to have more on regular bread or even Texas toast. Just as tasty!
