ICE BlackBox Anti Bullying App {Review} #spon

By: Amandacomment

I was monetarily compensated for the below post however all thoughts are my own.

I think everyone has been bullied at one time or another in their lives. I was bullied buy a few different people from third through fifth grade. In third grade there was a parent of one of the students that volunteered as a classroom mom a couple of times a week. I think she caught me passing a note to her son (I liked him maybe?) and she made me empty out my desk and I had to sit away from her son but not at a desk. It was as if I was on display for the whole classroom to look at. She was also very mean. And not in that ‘teacher’ way either. I know there’s more to the story and I’ve always remember it in the back of my mind (because we made butter in baby jars that day). I’m not sure where our teacher went but this lady should never have been a classroom mom. Would you consider that bullying?

According to ICE:

“Every day, 160,000 students skip school because they are afraid they will be bullied.
Every two minutes, somewhere in America, someone is sexually assaulted.
One woman is beaten by her husband or partner every 15 seconds in the United States.
97% of rapists will never spend a day in jail.
There is an average of 207,754 victims (age 12 or older) of sexual assault each year.”

The ICE BlackBox Anti Bullying App makes it possible for your kids (or adults) to call 911 start and stop the camera then close the camera to see your videos and settings. This video then goes to a secure server and when you call 911 it sends an email or SMS message to your ICE contacts so they are alerted to your trouble.

It was very easy to make a profile. I just entered my full name and email address with a password. I was then prompted to add contacts to ICE by way of my cell phone contact list. Finally the application prompted me to use my current location and it was set up. It only took about five minutes. When you open your camera up it automatically opens your camera for recording and you just press a big green button in the middle of the phone. At at the very top is a red box prompting you to call 911 and then at the bottom you can close the screen and it will take you to your recorded incidents.

I think BlackBox is a good app for adults and older children (who have access to a smart phone) if they are in situations that call for immediate action. The only concern I would have is that the app would be open and a child would accidentally press the red 911 button accidentally.
