Playing outside during the summer is a must when you have kids. Well, playing anytime and all the time outside is a must when you have kids. They play then get hungry and of course they are all grimy and yucky. Wouldn’t you want them to eat outside? I know I do! Little Tikes sent us the Easy Store Picnic Table to review and they are so happy to be able to sit and eat lunches and sometimes dinner on the deck.
Calvin loves writing letters to daddy or the neighbors and after he’s done they go into everyone’s mailbox. It’s so sweet. He decided he wanted to sit outside and write the letters at his new picnic table. A feature that the kids and I enjoy is the crayon holder. The middle has a tray that crayons or other writing utensils can stay there and not fall off. I like the feature because the table is on our deck and crayons don’t fall in between the cracks.
As you can see the table easily sits three across and they still have arm room to eat. The kids are three, five and six. Their 11 year old cousin sat with them at the table too and there was still plenty of room. The picnic table is very easy to clean after the kids have lunch outside. The spills have not warped the plastic and the peanut butter and jelly has been easy to clean with no sticky mess. The table is also easy to fold and store in the garage if it gets too windy or during the winter. (I’ll probably put it in the basement so they can use it to eat lunches).
At times the umbrella gets wobbly and tilts. I think if it had a weighted flat bottom instead of pointed it would be an easy fix Otherwise it’s wide enough that it covers everyone in the shade which is very nice on hot days or if they have a popsicle for a treat. I’d also like to see at least two more cup holders just so the kids aren’t fighting over who gets to put their drink in a holder.
