Harvey Harvester and WOW Toys Playmat Save Money On Batteries!

By: Amanda16 Comments

Kids love to play with toys. Pretty obvious assumption, right? Not all kids like to play with the same toys but I have a toy that most kids would probably love. I feel like I’m in science class with these hypotheses! Wow Toys are non-battery operated toys and let me tell you, these things are great!! We received Harvey the Harvester and a big activity playmat so the kids could check out the WOW town for themselves.

harvey harvester

Can’t be a farmer without a mask!

Harvey Harvester joined our WOW Toy family that includes Flip n’ Tip Fred (garbage truck), Ryan’s Road Trip, and Dexter the Digger. Let me first start by saying we’ve had Fred for over three years, since my son’s first birthday, and Cal still loves to play with him. Not only does my son still play with him but my daughter loves him too along with the toys. The big deal in our house is to chase each other around our ‘racetrack’ (you go in a square to get to each room so they can go around and around) and sometime they see who can collect the garbage from Fred or the hay bales from Harvey the fastest. On a rainy these toys are the perfect solution to keep my kids occupied for a while.

Harvey is a combine harvester that deposits hay bales after you feed them into his automatic baler. The grain pipe on top of the harvester also twirls around so they can pretend to pick up corn which you can see rattling around in the thresher. Have I said there are no batteries? One of the features I absolutely love about these toys. I never have to worry about the kids coming to me and saying their toys don’t work. Harvey has a friction powered motor that makes real engine sounds.

My son and daughter have a knack for making noise at the most inopportune times. For instance, I’ll hear Harvey start his engine just as I’m getting on the phone or Fred will conveniently pick the exact moment I’m trying to concentrate on balancing the check book to go on a garbage run. I will say if you like noiseless toys these aren’t for you but what fun is that? It’s so neat to hear the kids talk about picking up the hay bales and delivering them to the horse race on the beach in town. Where they came up with the idea is beyond me but heck I’d love to race a horse on a beach!

playmat

Plenty of room on the playmat!

The playmat is about the size of a large train table, maybe a tad bigger. We put it down in our basement and the kids go down and play when it’s rainy or too hot outside. It has a construction site, beach, field, school and shops so the kids have plenty of visual themes to spark their interests. It easily rolls up so we take it upstairs to their rooms or to the living room and if they want to play with something else, we just prop it in a corner. The only downfall I see is that it is not machine washable. To be honest, I don’t know if any playmats on the market are, but it would nice to throw it in the washer and not have to spot clean. My kids are messy and no matter how vigilant I am there is some mess they’ve made somewhere, every day. I think kids have these secret ninja stealth abilities but alas that will be another post, another day.

Have I convinced you to buy WoW Toys? I sure hope so because honestly, they are great. Don’t forget to head to our Christmas in July event and enter to win your very own Harvey Harvester and playmat! I’ve included a short six second video where you can hear the noise Harvey makes and see him go!

I think this toy is great to spark a child’s imagination. I love toys that keep my kids occupied and lets them play on the floor. I too wish the playmat was washable, it’s just obvious that it’s going to get dirty. To answer your question, yes you have convince me to check out WoW Toys.

These do look good, by cant go through the washing machine does that Actually mean can go through the washing machine, I am a fan of trying, we machine wash the one that we used when our daughter was a small baby, its not waterproof though and i thought I would at least try it. Seriously want the whole set now, they seem really worth it!

I love playmats like this! Machine washable should be MANDATORY on anything to do with children, haha! I also like that Harvey “does” something. We have other farm like toys that my son just drives around. I like that if you put in the bales, he’ll deposit them out.

I really like this playmat . It has all the streets and fun places to visit . All I have to do is use it as a rug or roll it up and take where ever I want it for my grandson. I love these playmats so much

Ahh, the good, ol’ battery-free toys! How I love them. I have 3 girls and they love playing cars/tractors. We have been making towns for their vehicles on big cardboard boxes!

I like the fact that it doesn’t require batteries. The size of the play mat is also great. I don’t mind that it’s a noisy toy. When it’s quiet is when I have to start to worry about what he’s doing.
