I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Starburst. I received product samples to facilitate my review and promotional item as a thank you for participating.

BOO! Fair warning. This post may or may not make you cringe! Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. On the first day of Autumn every year I get out the old orange storage bin and dig for the Halloween decorations to put out. Halloween beenie babies, fake jack-o-lanterns, and glow in the dark window clings, oh my! Of course it also begins my mission to be the coolest mom on the block with awesome Halloween treats…
Starburst recently partnered with Tori Spelling (LOVE HER!!) to create Tori’s Tasty Tips for Halloween Entertaining. Everyone knows I’m not the most domestic person so I can use all of the tips I can get. Do I love Tori Spelling? Yes! Do I love Starburst? Yes! This was a no brainer for me to easily write about. And I won’t lie. I watch Tori Spelling’s shows (at least when I had cable) and read her books. Who loved Donna? This girl!

Ok, Ok. Enough about my secret obsession for all things Tori and Dean. Let’s get to my uh super awesome Rice Crispy Treat craft! Again. I am not the craftiest person in the world but I had fun making these even though it looks as if my kids helped albeit they did not! (Don’t laugh!)

Following the directions on the marshmallow bag I made the crispy rice treats by simply melting butter and marshmallows in a microwave safe bowl then I added about five cups of Rice Crispy cereal. I sprayed Pam on the bottom of the 9×13 baking dish (you can’t taste it) then I spread it out using a clean silicone spatula or wax paper. Viola. Right?

So if you can’t tell that’s suppose to be a bat. Not as pretty as I’d hoped. And no the kids did not help me despite how it looks! I had fun however trying to get the bat perfect but he just did not cooperate! I think he was a tad camera shy. Regardless, my kids will enjoy eating it! Below I’ve included the picture of what Tori Spelling’s Candy Corn Treats are suppose to look like!

This looks like something my daughter would love to help me do in the kitchen. She’s finally at the age where she’s hands on with baking, I’m loving it!
great idea for a new twist on some popular snacks
