Green Kid Crafts {review}

birdhouse collage

I’m not really a crafty person. That does not mean I haven’t tried to be crafty I just don’t do well initiating the craft project. I have a lot of ideas from other blogs and magazines that I have saved but for now I am quite content with Green Kids Crafts and their amazing craft boxes you can receive once a month!

I’m really not sure what I expected. Probably not for this product to be as awesome as it is! Really. I’m not kidding. It was funny since I had told my son we were going to make a bird feeder. You know the ones… pine cones, peanut butter, etc… Well this craft kit came and I was floored that it was about birds. I’d never made a birdhouse so this was a perfect learning experience for both my son and I.

The birdhouse was very easy to assemble. The kit contained one of three different types of birdhouse and a card that tells you which one you have out of the three. The steps were easy to read and it only took about five minutes to put together. After assembling the birdhouse my son painted with the colors we were sent, pink and green. Perfect for both a boy and girl although my daughter didn’t really pay attention to what we were doing since my son was a bit territorial!

Perfect spot!

After the paint dries it is recommended to use a little wood glue to ensure the pieces stay together. They do send you twine that you can loop through the holes to hang the house on a tree. My husband opted to cut a piece of wood to place our birdhouse on the fence then they water-proofed it so it wouldn’t get damaged outside. My son loved this project and even asked daddy if we could make another one!
