Do you like jam? Do you like to think outside of the box? Then you will absolutely love The Jam Stand. With innovative, fresh and well-made jam that not many people may have heard of, The Jam Stand makes it all. You can choose between five different amazing flavors, and the fact that they don’t add all the extra stuff you may see on store labels makes it all that much more delicious. I’m not sure about you, but I have never heard of onions mixed with wine. I am obsessed with onions, and then to have it soaked with red wine and a couple other things, you have my attention! Of course, the other jars were amazing in their own way and I will go into detail with them below. I just want to say, you can’t take my word for it. You will just have to visit the shop and try them yourself!
Sweet WINO-nion Jam: When you open the jar you can definitely smell the onions with a hint of wine, but it’s not overpowering by any means. The onions have been soaked with sugar, red wine, and citric acid to make a spoonful taste just that much better. I took a small bite off of a fork and fell in love. The flavors blended together to make my mouth water and the taste of the wine and onion combination was sweet to the taste buds. I know this might sound weird, but I tried it on a hot dog in a roll. The jam caramelized around the hot dog and tasted so incredible. This jar of jam was one of the first ones to go, since I kind of found myself snacking on it every once in a while.
You’re My Boy BLUE-berry Bourbon Jam: My husband and I both liked this jam. This one is made with blueberries, sugar, bourbon, vanilla and all natural pectin. One little bite and the blueberry flavor mixed with a hint of bourbon and vanilla lights up the taste buds. I put some on two pieces of toast and thoroughly enjoyed it. My husband even made peanut butter sandwiches with some of this jam spread on it. Delicious!
Drunken Monkey Jam: This one is mixed with bananas, sugar, lime, rum and all natural pectin. The taste is pure bananas with a hint of lime! I honestly couldn’t tell that there was any rum mixed in it, and although this wasn’t my most favorite it was still delicious. Having it mixed with some banana or vanilla ice cream would be amazing. I didn’t try it mixed with other things, but it was good just by itself.
Razzy Gabby & a Side of Jalapeño Jam: Talk about spice! This was my husband’s favorite. I had some on toast and it was too spicy for me, but it was still delicious. The raspberry was there, but the jalapeño taste was definitely over powering. Not too much to where it tasted awful, it was still very good! My husband had even made a sandwich with this one and said it was delicious. This jam is made with raspberries, sugar, jalapeno, lime, and all natural pectin.
We took the three jars to my husband’s grandparents for a taste testing and had them test each flavor and guess what each one had in it. The Wine-Onion was obvious to them all other than the flavor of the wine. They all were obvious except for the Razzy Gabby, as the spice was hard to define. After a round of taste testing, we all came to an agreement that each one was absolutely delicious and would be perfect paired with the perfect dish or snack. That and a couple tablespoons do not have that many calories if you’re counting them!
You can purchase each individual jar of jam for $10 each, or buy a gift pack. I am planning on getting another set of at least the Wine-Onion, because it’s just that amazing.
