My kids eat breakfast everyday. We wouldn’t make it past 8 in the morning if we didn’t. Normally we have cereal or oatmeal and (if I or my husband has time) eggs and bacon or pancakes. Lately though time has not been on my side and we opt for cereal. We’re not the only ones! Nine out of ten parents see the importance of starting the day with a protein-rich breakfast but more than half admit there isn’t time to prepare it. Honestly, we always try to have bacon or sausage cooked on hand for the kids for a well-balanced meal. On the days we don’t have a protein we’ve tried the new Cheerios Protein and our family very much enjoys eating them!
Did you know that the vast majority of parents (almost three-fourths) feel that their family doesn’t get enough protein in the morning. Two out of every five see the time it takes to make a protein-rich breakfast as a barrier, making way for Cheerios Protein as the time-saving solution. Since I often think of protein as just meat I was skeptical when I saw that a cereal was advertising protein. However, protein is found in beans, nuts, seeds and some grains. Duh. It just didn’t dawn on me that cereal could have protein too.
How did we like Cheerios Protein?
We loved the cereal. Really. After I was done taking pictures for this post my son snuck outside and decided to pour himself a bowl. If was almost dinner time but he said I could take pictures of him eating so I gave in and let him eat! He said he loved Cheerios and he could eat them any time of the day. (Yeah I had a bowl before dinner too..shh)
