Thinking about making that big switch from crib to toddler bed? I know I am! My daughter will be 19 months old next month and while she hasn’t climbed out of her crib just yet I now it’s only a matter of time. See, her older brother did it at nine months so we switched him to a new bed before he was two! We are not use to a slow mover but it’s true that each child is different. And each child also needs a different type of bed to sleep on too.
We’ve had a tough decision with whether or not to buy a new twin bed or to just keep the toddler mattress and buy a cute frame. We decided to go with a toddler bed for our son but for our daughter I think we are leaning towards a twin or a full size. Finding a very comfortable mattress for her is going to be key. Are all mattresses equal? I don’t think so! I am of course scouring the internet for different ideas and sizes and looking for what other moms are trying. The online company, TESCO, shows a lot of different pictures and gives descriptions of different mattress brands for comparison.
Have you ever wondered why they make mattresses with designs and not plain white? According to my husband it is because mattresses do not always have sheets on them and they need to look pretty. TESCO lets you see different styles and colors of mattresses so your room will always look great! I didn’t even know there were so many patterns and colors. From pink and blue to plaid and flowers, it seems there is a mattress for everyone.

My sister is having a bit of a time with this. Her two year old is fighting the “big” bed because of a new little brother in a crib! It helps to make the move exciting for young ones.

We bought a convertable baby bed for our son, but now he sleeps in another bed by his own choosing. I think the mattress is more comfortable for him. He sleeps in a full sized bed. He moves so much in his sleep I think he was waking through the night in his toddler bed from hitting the sides.
