Mountainsmith K9 Dog Leash And Collar

I was drawn to this particular dog collar and leash because it’s made from 100% recycled PET tubular webbing. It’s also adjustable so you can decide how long you want it to be at any given time and it was easy to adjust. This also makes it possible to turn the handle into a waist belt so you can walk your dog free hand and it is especially nice if you run with your dog or hike like me.

Both collar and leash have strips of reflective fabric so you can be easily seen at night. These work in my favor and are good aspects of the two products. I have a German Shepherd and I am always a little uneasy about him tugging. This light weight material and hook that connects the leash to the collar was just sturdy enough that he did not get lose. The collar also has a plastic clasp. This fit my dog around its neck with adjustments. Doesn’t he look great in green?

Here’s a little about Mountainsmith. As you can see they produce products that are durable and functional!

Mountainsmith was founded in 1979 by legendary outdoorsman Patrick Smith and was born of a need for seriously durable gear that could withstand the rigors of backcountry pursuits in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. His initial product innovation was the world’s first fully rigid backcountry ski sled to haul massive loads of gear effectively and efficiently through the harsh Colorado winter wilderness. Soon after, Patrick Smith came up with the iconic lumbar waist pack to effectively carry gear while backcountry skiing and secured the first patent for a lumbar pack, US PAT #5529230, using our Delta Load Compression system which carries on into the present day within a variety of our packs and classic lumbars.

If you have a dog then this is a nice leash and collar for everyday use.  I do encourage anyone who promotes a greener earth to check out their website and I do thank them for their efforts in using recycled materials!

Both leash and collar come in one color, green. Available in two sizes SM/MD and MD/LG (+ $2.00 for MD/LG leash and + $3.00 for MD/LG collar) Leash is 6’ long.

The K9 Leash is $17.95 and the K9 Collar is $11.95.
