I am a stickler when it comes to cutting boards. I have to have good ones mainly because I have some form of arthritis, and also carpel tunnel. Cutting food is not exactly painless for me, so having a nice sturdy yet light cutting board is very important, especially in my kitchen. Core Bamboo has a slew of products available that are very interesting, but I set my eyes on a cutting board. My current board is thick and incredibly heavy, so lifting it hurts my hands. I was not expecting this board from Core Bamboo to be as light as it was.
Due to it being made of crushed bamboo, one would figure it would be light, but it’s wood. I assumed wrong, obviously. This board is so incredibly light weight, it does not hurt my hands to lift it and it’s large enough for me to cut even the largest of items without running out of room. I absolutely love this cutting board, even down to the fact that it’s super soft and the coloring is gorgeous.
I had been cutting up some tomatoes for a salad that night for dinner, in the top photo. Not only is the board light weight, it’s durable. Even though there are cut marks in the wood it hasn’t frayed horribly or left markings to where they are noticeable. Instead, it looks like a brand new cutting board even though I have used it for a little over a week or so. My other cutting board has not been touched since I received this, and I don’t think I plan on going back to it unless it was my last resort. My hands are very thankful for this board.
Even better, it’s pretty much on the thinner side and not as thick so I can easily store it in one of my kitchen drawers and pull it out whenever I need it. Stored out of the way and it’s not in space that I desperately need. Instead, it’s perfect. Perfect size, light weight and obviously made of high quality materials.
This Large Crushed Bamboo Cutting Board can be purchased for $35.00, along with many other choices and products that are amazing products to have in your kitchen!
