Cooking. It’s a word that I have struggled to come to grips with since having my second child. I use to love to cook and now I see it as a chore and it makes me very unhappy. My husband has thankfully taken over the reigns when he can. He loves to cook and bake and is the type to buy every single kitchen gadget known to man! We have never had a wok so I was excited to provide him with a new kitchen ‘toy’. We received the 12″ Green Earth Wok by Ozeri and he was excited to get cooking.
So what do you cook in a wok? Would you say Chinese food like stir fried rice or Kung Pao chicken? Nope. Try eggs. Yes, eggs! We had breakfast for dinner one evening and decided to break out the wok and you guessed it. Scrambled eggs. They were phenomenal. The eggs turned out very fluffy and the perfect color. You know when you over cook eggs they turn really yellow? Not these eggs. Cleaning the pan was a breeze too. He just took a paper towel and wiped it off so he could cook the next breakfast item.
What do you have with eggs? Bacon! I was pretty skeptical when he decided to do this. I usually bake my bacon or microwave it depending on the amount of time I have and how good the kids are being. Surprisingly it cooked up fairly quickly and was not as greasy as I would have imagined. It was nice because you could really just tip the extra grease out of the pan if you needed to. I like my bacon crispy, almost burnt so after he had taken some out he left mine in the pan and it was done a minute or two later.
I actually loved this Wok. I have used it several times and am impressed with its durability. It is scratch resistant And yes I HAVE scrapped the bottom with metal and it was fine. I always just grab something from the drawer without thinking. It also has a smooth ceramic non-stick coating that is 100% PTFE and PFOA free. Don’t believe me? Check out Ozeri on Facebook and their website to see for yourself!

I love woks! There are so many different foods that you can cook in them besides stir fry!
OK, so now I want one. Christmas may be coming early for this girl!
I need one of these. My hubby will cook..if forced! LOL I have an old skillet with that nasty chipping away coating, I need to pitch it and get this wok. Thanks for sharing I wondered how many uses a wok would have.
