Hero Dog Scholastic Giveaway

By: Amanda9 Comments

The kids are back in school reading tons of new books. I have a 1st and 3rd grader and library is one of their favorite days of the week. We order from Scholastic every couple of months when the flyers are sent home from school and we have the book fair coming up at the end of the month. If you need a suggestion for your kids The Hilde Cracks the Case series is written by 10-year-old Hilde Lysiak (with her journalist father) – whose real-life crime reporting has been recognized by the New York Times and NBC (to name a few!) What a fun series!

ABOUT SCHOLASTIC BRANCHES

Scholastic’s early chapter book line Branches is aimed at newly independent readers. With easy-to-read text, high-interest content, fast-paced plots, and illustrations on every page, these books will boost reading confidence and stamina. Branches books help readers grow!

ABOUT THE BOOK

“Hilde Cracks the Case” Series

Real-life super-sleuth and media sensation Hilde Lysiak’s reporting skills are put to the test in this fun early chapter book mystery series! Ten-year old crime reporter Hilde Lysiak is starring in her very own early chapter book series — inspired by news stories Hilde wrote in real life! Joanne Lew-Vriethoff’s personality-filled illustrations appear on every page, bringing Hilde’s adventures to life for young readers!

Book #1: Hero Dog

There’s been a break-in on Orange Street! Cupcakes have been stolen, and soon a pie goes missing, too. Hilde and her sister/photographer, Izzy, must interview witnesses and follow the clues. Can Hilde crack the case in time to post her news story online?
