Shake It Up And Sort It Out

By: Tiffany S.16 Comments

Sometimes my toddler just needs to explore. I can always see those wheels turning as she learns new things on a daily basis. I love watching when she gets the aha moment. Puzzles, colors and musical anything are high on her priority list at the moment. And all those are completely fine with me. 1., there is no screen involvement and 2., although these areas are fun, I know how much she is learning as well. I turned to two trusted partners to help in the learning fun for my little one. Thank goodness for quality brands like HABA and Learning Resources, so your toddler can shake things up and sort them out!

Learning Resources Birds in a Nest Sorting Set is new for 2017. Momma and baby birds help young learners practice counting, sorting and colors in an interactive and engaging way. The bowls stack, and the momma birds can be used as finger puppets. Little learners will love matching birds and nests by color. Educational Benefits include: Visual and tactile learning style and Skill Development; Counting, Matching, Sorting, Patterning, Addition, Subtraction,  Imagination, Language development, Fine motor skills, Eye-hand coordination, Size comparison, Color identification.

Although we’re just in the matching phase, I know these will be growing with her and can’t wait to see her learn.

Shake things up with the HABA Shakin Eggs. Develop your child’s musical abilities early with these brightly colored eggs that all make different noises. Most are shakin’ but one of the five is twistin. Can you figure out which one it is? We’ve loved discovering how to make each egg make noise. We also played a game to see if she would recall which sound came from which color. There is something very calming about each egg. They won’t over stimulate, but they will make your little one think and explore.

We’ve been so lucky to find such quality toys that are not just fun, but will help her learn and explore for a while to come.

My son is really good about sorting items that are alike, but we do struggle with recognizing and identifying the correct color/name. I love the birds and the dishes. This would help identify the like birds/dishes and also work to correctly identify the color. Books don’t see to do it for him, maybe something like this would help. Thank you for sharing these reviews!

We love the physical aspect of putting in coordinating colors. I found it helped a lot!

these do look cute for kids at that age, who love noises made by things like this. as long as they’re old enough to not try & eat the little ‘chicks’ in the eggs, or choke on them, these would be great.
