Summer Blog Challenge Day #57 (July 27)

By: Nik2 Comments

Write about an alternative energy source.

Joy- We pass a wind farm when we go from Indiana to Ohio. It’s in Van Wert and we love driving past and looking at the turbines. We often stop at the rest area on the way back and my son loves sit on a bench and just look at them. I found an article about them and apparently Ohio has become a good investment for wind..who knew!

Nik-  Solar energy:  We use it somewhat right now, warming swimming pools and I think some furnaces run on solar energy.  It would be good if we could come up with some more things to use solar energy for.  The sun is up there beaming down its rays, why not use them?

Tonya-  On our way to see my BFF and her family (Joy) on vacation we saw windmills, a lot of them. We pointed them out to our boys who didn’t seem interested but my husband and I were talking about how little energy they actually create. I don’t really understand how they work but pretty neat that wind can help produce energy.

Solar panel manufacturing in the US has gone to the dogs because China can make them so cheaply.

I wrote about wind energy as well. It is interesting to watch the blades rotate and think about the electricity that can be generated from the wind.
