Do you love handing out candy on Beggar’s Night? I do! I always like seeing the costumes kids are wearing and it’s a way for us to get to know our neighbors too. While my kids are allergy-free, some kids aren’t able to eat certain candies that they receive in their treat bags. The Teal Pumpkin Project is a great initiative that let’s kids choose a non-food item at houses that display a teal pumpkin. Peeps agrees with me and they’ve offered fun non-candy items for Trick or Treaters this year!
About The Teal Pumpkin Project™:
- The Teal Pumpkin Project™ is a national initiative from Food Allergy Research & Education (FARE) that promotes safety, inclusion and respect of individuals managing food allergies by encouraging households to display a teal pumpkin and provide non-food treats for trick-or-treaters.
- This movement provides an alternative for kids with food allergies, as well as other children for whom candy is not an option, and keeps Halloween a fun, positive experience for all!
