Did you know that a baby can hear sounds outside of the womb as early as 20 weeks?! And at 30 weeks, memory recall begins. And thus begins the realization that mom or dad are speaking to baby from day one on the outside! Another interesting fact is just talking to your unborn baby could help them with their future language development. There have been conflicting reports on playing music for baby and if it helps in future educational endeavors. Regardless of what you believe, music does help calm baby and mom, could help flip baby if needed and helps baby start to appreciate music early on. Bellybuds is an awesome company that lets baby and others enjoy music together.

Bellybuds Box

Bellybuds has many amazing benefits above just playing music to your belly. One, with the enclosed splitter, mom, dad or siblings can listen with baby and begin to bond over a love of music. Another great benefit is you can record messages from family members far away that may not be able to come talk to your belly like you can on a daily basis. How neat is it that our babies’ brains do not wait for birth to start absorbing information!

Bellybuds helps regulate the decibel level for your baby, so you don’t blast them out too early. Also, the slim design is ideal whether mom is sitting, standing or lying down. Traditional headphones restrict the mom to be to lie on her back with minimal movement.

Since using Bellybuds, I must say how happy I am with them. The hydrogel adhesive pads are comfortable and stick easily to my stomach and remove just as easily with no residue. I’ve used mine at home, work and while visiting family. I downloaded the Mozart album and have enjoyed listening along with the splitter that comes with the kit. We’ve also attached the Bellybuds to my iPhone and listened to my music. Hubby has enjoyed listening with baby. When a song he enjoys comes on, he gives baby a running commentary and history of the song and artist. Hubby was fascinated that Bellybuds was created by a daddy to be, when he noticed his wife trying to play music for their unborn daughter unsuccessfully. Plus, he is the music guru in our house. He has started constructing playlists of what baby will enjoy. I’ve also noticed how soothing listening to music with baby is. Please don’t mind my belly pics.

Bellybuds is something I will continue to use through delivery and will most likely listen to Mozart after! Bellybuds can be purchased at Babies R Us, Amazon and BuyBuyBaby. A portion of all US sales help support Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles. These are a great idea for the expecting mama in your life!

Connect with Bellybuds on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Keep an eye out in the near future for a Bellybuds giveaway!

That seems like an awesome idea. We aren’t having any more, but I’ll be sure to recommend this.

There has been a lot of research of talking, reading, and playing music for your unborn baby. The benefits sound wonderful. A simple thing to do and can mean so much.
