Each evening we have a pretty set routine in our household. After dinner, we have tubby time, teeth brushing, books then bed. It helps settle the kids down and they know what to expect. We also brush out my daughter’s hair after her bath or shower because she would wake up with a bird’s nest of tangles otherwise. The hair brushing event is my least favorite of the evening. Working through the tangles always leaves both of us frustrated and one of us in tears (it goes back and forth which one).
We’ve tried many brushes on her hair. Although it isn’t very long or thick, it is very wispy and seems to tangle easily. Paddle brushes work ok when it’s dry, but barely get through while wet. We don’t even try a brush with any little balls on the ends of bristles. We were able to try two Knot Genie products, the Original Knot Genie and the Knot Genie Supreme to help with her tangles.
The Original Knot Genie is nice and fits easily in the palm of your hand. While I was waiting for baths to get finished, I ran it through my hair and was happily surprised. It didn’t get caught once in my long hair due to the two lengths of bristles. When I brushed through my daughter’s hair, we only had one wince. Success!!
She also wanted to try to brush her hair by herself. We found the original a little difficult for her to use on her own. She could not reach the back of her head to brush. The Supreme Knot Genie was absolutely perfect for her. The handle helped to reach the very back of her head where she usually has the most difficulty brushing.
Overall, I am highly impressed with Knot Genie. The process was painless for the both of us and now is no longer seen as a chore, but just a part of the happy and peaceful nighttime routine.

Oh this is what we need! I hate trying to comb thru their hair after baths! You try to be so gentle, yet it pulls for them. This would be wonderful!
