It’s the holiday time again, so that means bringing out all the decorations, cookie cutters and the holiday music! I don’t know about your household, but in my car, the Frozen soundtrack has been on a constant loop. Don’t get me wrong, I can belt out Let It Go with the best of them, but I was needing a music change.
Just in time for the holidays, we received Kidz Bop Christmas wish List to check out. I was at first nervous to listen to this in the car and thought about just having the kids listen to it with my daughter’s little CD player in her room. The kids were excited though, so we popped it in on the way to the store. I’m glad I at least gave it a chance, because it was not what I thought.
The five main singers had great harmony together, but they weren’t overly sugar coated. There are 14 tracks on the CD and the songs aren’t all the typical songs you hear on every Christmas album. The kids didn’t know a few of the songs like Blue Christmas and I Saw Three Ships, but after a few rounds of the CD they knew them just as well as their favorites.
Overall, the kids loved the new twist on Christmas classics and found a few new ones to love. I found the CD easy to listen to and overall enjoyable. Don’t get me wrong, it won’t replace my beloved TSO albums, but it has definitely made the playlist.
