Hello! I’m Nik and I am Joy’s evil sister. (You know, the one that locked her in the closet AND had to take her on my dates!) Though our opinions vary, um more like are complete opposites, we are still very close.
I am the mother of two boys, 8 (Hunter) and 18 (Nick), a stepson (Andrew) and stepdaughter and stepson-in-law (Meghan and Kyle) as well as a grandma to my stepdaughter’s son and soon to be born daughter. I have been married for 5 years, but many times it feels like forever!
I am new to the blogging world. I have not done it before, unless you count the comments that I’ve made on others’ blogs. I love to surf (mainly during ‘breaks’ at work) and learn new things. I am an avid reader with many favorite authors. Now that I have a reader, I can read more often! I can’t name just one favorite book, it would have to be a whole library. As for an author, I’d have to say that it’s a toss-up between James Patterson and David Baldacci. Both of these authors have the annoying habit of making me pull an all-nighter just to finish their book! I am also a college football fan. GO OSU and LSU!
Both of my sons ended up playing soccer and some other sports. I was still a single mom when Nick started to play but I wanted to spend as much time with him as possible before he grew up. So what did I do? I volunteered to coach! Me, who barely knew what a soccer ball was, offered to coach her son’s team. Well, I survived the coaching and even got into some reffing of soccer games. Now Hunter is into playing soccer as well. And you guessed it, I am coaching his team too. They have played other sports, but it seems that the one constant has been soccer. Which is why 15 years later it is still very much a part of our lives.
I hope to bring you laughter and maybe some tears as I share my experiences both on and off the field! I am proud that my li’l sis has started this blog and am excited to be a part of it.
