ttuDo you love to entertain? I do when I have time and the weather is nice. Cookouts and informal get-togethers use to be a weekly thing before we had kids. Now that we’ve moved back home and are with our friends and family we hope to have gatherings at least a couple times a month! As soon as I saw the Tabletops Unlimited Kathy Davis collection Vegetable Bowl and Serving Platter I knew I just had to have them to match my pitcher that I reviewed over the holidays.

The Kathy Davis Happiness Collection was inspired by ordinary things that bring her joy. She loves using the colors aqua and indigo and painting flowers and polka dots. I enjoy these colors too since the inside of the vegetable bowl is a close match to my couch! Each handcrafted piece is unique and one of a kind. No two pieces of earthenware are alike.

The Platter is very pretty and can serve many functions including a relish tray, which I’ve used above. I just needed something to put some lettuce and tomatoes on for burgers. I also added strawberries and pecans so the kids could pick at that before dinner since we were eating a little late. As you can see there’s plenty of room for other food on the platter. I’ve also used it to serve sandwiches and fruit for the kids’ lunches when we’ve had their friends over, spaghetti and meatballs, or to take the steaks off the grill since it’s nice and large. I’ve really gotten use out of this platter and I haven’t had it for very long!

ttucollageWe’ve used the vegetable bowl for many different functions too including a very pretty decorative fruit bowl. We put apples, bananas and oranges in it during the week and the kids can dig right in for a snack. I’ve been asked many times where I’ve gotten a the pretty bowl or if I made it myself. The decoration on the bowl is bold and bright and has not faded or worn away when I’ve washed it. I’m very happy that I could add this piece too my collection.

Buy the Vegetable Bowl for $36 and the 14 inch Platter for $32 on the Tabletops Unlimited website.

I love this collection. It is so perfect for the veggie platters I make in spring and summer. I love the look of pottery.

I love the colors of the bowl. So beautiful I would be afraid to use it with kids around.
