Have you ever needed a pick me up or a boost to help you lose weight after having a child, or even a few years after having that little one? The Mommy MD Guides has a selection of awesome books that have Doctor tips and suggestions as well as encouragement for plenty of dilemmas you may have in your life. Having a little one is not easy, having a few more is even harder! You need someone who understand what you’re going through to give you the advice and the help that you need. That’s why The Mommy MD Guides came out with Losing Weight and Feeling Great in the fall of 2013. This book has so much to read and enjoy that you may even find yourself eating healthier and feeling better about yourself before you know it.
There are some amazing recipes (that I haven’t tried yet, but I have used one of these before I even read the book and it was delicious!) that are super healthy for you and even a daily food log so you can keep track of what you eat. I’ve always found that writing down or keeping track of the calories, carbs and other important things in your diet helps keep your cravings at bay. It will also remind you if you’ve gotten to close to your limit and you may not want to take that bite of ice cream even though it’s begging you to!
Below are a couple quotes out of the book that might spark your interest into picking this up. It’s incredibly helpful and I plan on really using it the beginning of the new year to create a new me. Even if it helps me with my frame of mind. I don’t plan on losing lots of weight but if it can help me stay in shape before we start for our second child then I’m all for it!
Want to “lose” 10 pounds in an instant? Sit up straight, pull your shoulders down and back, and arch your back to get “cheerleader butt.” By pulling your shoulders down, your neck looks thinner, and with a C-curve in your lower back, your thighs and tummy look thinner. Voila, you’ll look 10 pounds slimmer. – Jennifer Hanes, DO, a mom of a seven-year-old daughter and a four-year-old son, an emergency physician who’s board certified in integrative medicine, and the author of The Princess Plan: Shrink Your Waist, Expand Your Beauty, in Austin, TX.
When I think about my mood, I find that if I’m tired, I am a lower-mood person. If I’ve had a good night’s sleep, I’m a higher-mood person. My mood level and energy levels are closely related. – Nancy Rappaport, MD, a Mom of 22- and 18-year-old daughters and a 20-year-old son, an associate professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, an attending child and adolescent psychiatrist in the Cambridge, MA, public schools, and the author of The Behavior Code.
If the advice from Doctors who are mommies and have tried the tricks of the trade doesn’t push you into picking up this book, then you simply just have to pick up the book to prove it to yourself! I have gone through so much trying to lose weight and after having a child I managed to get down to a semi-goal weight then I gained some of it back again. It’s frustrating not having that support behind my back but now I have this book to read. This has helped me out and has definitely pushed me to want to get back into shape again! I know I can do it, I just need the encouragement from 50 Doctors who have been through it before.

I’d love to win the First Year guide.
Which toothbrush I love?? I’m very confused! If you meant “book”, I like the Losing Weight and Feeling Great book. I’m sure it would stay a useful book even when the kids are out of grade school 😉
I don’t see anything about toothbrushes on this site, but I love all the information about books–especially the one you reviewed. I don’t know what URL to use.
