I am a reader and my kids follow in my footsteps. We take weekly trips to the library so the kids can pick out their own books. It’s always fun to see what interests them that week and what they are eager to learn about. St. Patrick’s Day is coming up and what fun it is to read stories about different holidays throughout the year. (As you can see by his attire below we are representing all holidays!)
The Naughty Leprechaun Story is a book about choices and making your own luck. Liam and Leyland are twins that go down two different paths. Liam, the good twin, chooses to work and apply himself. He in turn earns money and is able to buy sweets and treats etc. Leyland is the naughty twin who doesn’t apply himself, instead turns to mischief but wants treats and to have fun. The book is about choices and how one can choose naughty or good actions.
At the ripe old age of 5, my son is learning about choices and consequences. It’s amazing to see his eyes light up when he understands the differences between right and wrong. As a parent it can be frustrating to tell your children over and over what not to do that the day it ‘clicks’ you can breathe a sigh of relief! This book is lighthearted and fun but teaches youngsters to be the best you can be and maybe something good will come from it. You can see my son reading to me like the teacher does in class or at the library. Teaching me about the story. It was very endearing to hear him tell me about why the antics of the leprechauns was either good or bad.
Beginning March 14th-17th have fun with your little ones and ask them to hide the coin that comes with the book under their pillow. They’ll get to choose the naughty side for a prank or the good side for a treat. What a fun way to celebrate and start a new tradition with your kids!
