Get ready for a T-rex sized adventure on January 20, when PBS KIDS premieres “Nature Trackers Adventure Camp,” an all-new, one-hour special from The Jim Henson Company’s hit series DINOSAUR TRAIN. Kids will follow Buddy, Shiny, Tiny and Don in four brand-new, exciting stories as they travel to different ecosystems and learn about erosion, tree lines, rainforests and canyons. The special premieres Monday, January 20 at 9am and 2:30pm ET/PT (check local listings). Watch out for repeats on Saturday, January 25 8:30am ET/PT; and Sunday, January 26, 8:00am ET/PT!
In the on-air special, Mr. Conductor and his nephew Gilbert lead Buddy, Tiny, Shiny, Don and friends on an action-packed journey during Nature Trackers Adventure Camp! Throughout their adventures at camp, the group finds courage as they race down rivers, have a snowball fight, climb a tall mountain, ride a zip line over the rainforest, and hike down a canyon to dig for fossils! Viewers won’t be able to resist tapping their feet and singing along as the whole gang makes discoveries about the world around them.
Each page has adorable friendly looking dinosaurs with their children. Bright, colorful and fun to flip the page and each flap also! The above photo shows the book without the flaps having been pulled open. They’re very easy to pull open however they don’t exactly go back into place and stay. It’s no big deal as my toddler still likes pulling them open and getting surprised each time. The stories are not that long on each page although they’re very engaging and fun. It’s entertaining to see my toddler pull open a flap and look at the other side to see what the opposites are or what the colors of the crystals are. Each page has a different story with a whole new set of flaps to explore!
From learning what the opposite of under is (above) to finding the correct baby dinosaur that hatches from their colorful eggs. Each page engages the child to learn what their opposites are and their colors. There’s even action flaps where the dinosaur (as you see in the above photo) may be sliding down the water fall and once you pull the flap the dinosaur slides and splashes into the water. If you’re looking for a book to enjoy with your toddler then this one is perfect! This book is used every single day by my tot even when I’m not playing with her. She’s learned the opposites and has started using it in her vocabulary. Learning about dinosaurs is important, so make sure this book is on your toddlers bookshelf for daily reading!
